Penerapan Internal Security Act Singapura Pasca Peristiwa 9/11

ABSTRACT Kautsar Noorsito: Implementation of Internal Security Act in Singapore After 9/11 Purpose of this paper is to show how Singapore Government implemented Internal Security Act especially after tragedy of World Trade Center in 11th September. During that time, the issue of terrorism is known globally. The world say no to terrorism and Singapore is a country from south east asia that use “violent” law to reduce threat of terror. Detention without trial is a law that give authority to Singapore Governemt, they can arrest person without eyewitness, proof, or trial. The detention can take action if president of Singapore feel satisfied with the arrest. Of course, it is open to abuse the authority and it is very near with breaking law of humaniter. Scope of the paper it is began after 9/11 until now. The methodology of this research is descriptive. It is combine the data and fact about Internal of Security Act that writer use from valid source. Output from this research, Singapore can reduce the threat from terrorism and become the country with the least terrorist threat. Singapore become the example of country to fight terrorism. But, there is prize that they must pay, it is the law of humaniter. Government of Singapore, until now day still use Internal Security Act. They defend the law because the national security of Singapore must have the first place. To keep the country save for everyone, it is the motto of Singapore and they keep the motto until now. Human rights important too, but to face the new radical terrorism, Singapore need the “radical” law.
