Pengikisan Dominasi Etnis Mayoritas Uighur Di Xinjiang Oleh Perintah Cina

2011 | Skripsi | Ilmu Hubungan InternasionalUighur is one of the ethnic in People‘s Republic of China that positioned in northwest China, at Xinjiang Autonomous Region. The majority of Uighur profess Moslem. At the beginning, Xinjiang region was called as East Turkestan and be Uighur‘s place since 4000 years ago. The Chinese formally take possession of this region at September 18, 1884. Minority case is one of the sensitive issues in China. The Government tries their best efforts to prevent the emergence of the problem. Consequently, tighten regulation in every province and region where there are ethnic minorities people live and being majority. Furthermore, apply the migration policy for Han people to move to rural area, especially with majority of ethnic minorities‘ people. This effort expected to suppress the number of minority people and repress their influence in those regions. Han migration to Xinjiang plays important role in ethnic conflict that oftentimes occur. Non-Han people that live in Xinjiang realize this matter as another effort from the government to undermine their cultures and beliefs. In the worst-case scenario, they believe that there will be a cultural genocide happened in Xinjiang. As for the Xinjiang case, this condition makes the sentiment between ethnic arise. The Han people, who barely moved to the Xinjiang region, get a better condition than the indigenous people there do. Otherwise, people outside of Han receive boundaries in various aspects, especially Uighur people who have great influence in the region and shared Moslem as their religion, seen as a threat to China‘s communist ideology. Especially when the region possesses an importance issue for the China‘s national interest.
