DIREKTUR ROLL DALAM REORGANISASI STOVIA 1902

Reorganisasi 1875 dibuat agar pendidikan kedokteran di Hindia Belanda menjadi lebih baik. Akan tetapi 26 tahun setelah Staatsblad van Nederlandsch Indie No. 265 diterapkan di Sekolah Dokter-Djawa, landasan hukum tersebut dikritisi oleh Direktur Sekolah H.F. Roll. Sebuah hal yang menarik untuk diketahui tentang isi pikiran Roll pada waktu itu. Dalam isi pikiran tersebut terdapat banyak faktor yang mendasari perlunya dilakukan reorganisasi lagi. Walaupun banyak Sejarawan telah menulis reorganisasi Stovia, penulis juga menambahkan hasil reorganisasi yang dilakukan Roll. Tanggapan dari berbagai pihak juga perlu diperhatikan. Dari tanggapan tersebut, dapat diketahui pihak yang setuju dengan reorganisasi sekolah dan pihak yang kontra dengan reorganisasi. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menjelaskan ide-ide reorganisasi hingga hasil dan tanggapan setelah reorganisasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode ilmu sejarah. Penulis melaksanakan semua prosedur menurut metode ilmu sejarah dari penentuan topik hingga penulisan yang dibuktikan dengan skripsi ini. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan posisi sentral Roll dalam mengusahakan reorganisasi sekolah walaupun keputusan reorganisasi bukan merupakan wewenangnya. Banyaknya pelanggaran dan situasi yang tidak sejalan antara peraturan Staatsblad van Nederlandsch Indie No. 265 dengan kenyataan di lapangan telah meyakinkan banyak pihak perlunya perubahan terhadap sekolah. Perubahan yang dilaksanakan sangat menyeluruh: mulai dari struktur hierarkhi sekolah dengan pemerintah, struktur pengurus internal sekolah, prosedur ujian masuk sekolah hingga wisuda, fasilitas-fasilitas yang diberi pemerintah kepada siswa, dan lain sebagainya.

From the responses, it can be known to persons who agree to the reorganization of school and who disagree. The research aims to describe the reorganization ideas to the results and the response after the reorganization. This research using the method of the science of history. Writers implement all procedures according to the method of determining topics to writing as evidenced by this graduate paper. The results of this research indicate that Roll�s position is central of the reorganization of Stovia although the reorganization decisions is not his authority. The number of fouls and situations that are inconsistent between regulations with the reality in the field have convinced many people the need for changes to the school. The changes were implemented in all sectors: starting from the structure hierarchy of the school with the Government, the internal structure of the school superintendent, school�s entrance examination procedure until graduation, the facilities were given to students from Government, and other.
