EVALUASI PROSES UAT (USER ACCEPTANCE TESTING) DALAM PENGEMBANGAN PRODUK DENGAN PENDEKATAN PENGUJIAN PRAGMATIS

UAT (User Acceptance Testing) merupakan pengujian akhir dari pengembangan sebuah produk untuk mem-validasi bahwa sistem yang dibangun telah sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna. Namun, dalam pelaksanaannya masih kurang optimal sehingga dibutuhkan evaluasi untuk mengidentifikasi proses UAT tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk melakukan evaluasi efektifitas UAT pada industri pengembangan produk dengan pendekatan pengujian pragmatis sehingga dapat memberikan gambaran mengenai proses UAT yang sudah berjalan, dan dapat dipergunakan untuk membantuk tim proyek dalam mengelola risiko kualitas sistem sehingga proses UAT dapat lebih optimal. Beberapa variabel yang digunakan dalam proses evaluasi UAT adalah definisi kebutuhan, perencanaan pengujian, pelaksanaan UAT, dan faktor pengujian pragmatis yang mempengaruhi risiko kualitas yaitu fungsionalitas, usability&user interface serta error handling recovery. Dalam penelitian ini juga digunakan 6 hipotesis sebagai tolok ukur evaluasi UAT dalam pengembangan produk. Penelitian ini dilakukan terhadap 10 (sepuluh) perusahaan pengembangan produk IT yang berada di Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Bandung dan Filipina, dengan 43 responden yang terdiri dari testers, developer, business analyst dan project manager. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata-rata dari masing-masing tahapan UAT masih berada pada nilai 3(netral) sehingga perlu dilakukan perbaikan pada tahapan definisi kebutuhan, desain pengujian serta implementasi UAT sendiri. Sedangkan dari analisis nilai rata-rata pengujian pragmatis untuk faktor risiko kualitas (functionality, usability&user interface, dan error recovery) menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor tersebut berpengaruh penting dalam proses UAT dan memberikan ekspetasi positif terhadap sistem. Dari hasil tersebut, diberikan rekomendasi agar penguji dapat lebih optimal dalam menjalankan UAT.

UAT (User Acceptance Testing) is a final testing of product development to validate whether the system has been built according to user needs. However, the implementations are sometimes less than optimal and so we need an evaluation to identify the UAT process. This study aimed to evaluate UAT process in industrial product development using pragmatic testing approach so that it can provide a picture of the UAT process which already underway, and help project teams manage quality risk system so that the UAT process can be optimized. Some of the variables used in this UAT evaluation process are requirement testing definition, test planning, UAT execution and pragmatic factors testing that affect risk quality; namely functionality, usability and user interface as well as error handling recovery. In this research, 6 hyphotesis are also used for measuring the evaluation of UAT process. This study was conducted in ten (10) IT product development company located in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Bandung and the Philippines, to 43 respondents consist of testers, developers, business analysts and project managers. The results showed that the average value of the UAT stage is still at the value of 3 (neutral), it means that requirement definition, design testing and implementation of UAT needs to be improved. While on the mean analyses of pragmatic testing for the quality risk (functionality, usability&user interface and error handling recovery) showed that these factors have an important effect in the UAT process and provide positive expectations of the system. This study also gives recommendation for the testers so the UAT can be optimized.
