PENGARUH LOCUS OF CONTROL, PENALARAN MORAL, DAN MATERIALITY TERHADAP NIAT MAHASISWA DALAM MELAKUKAN WHISTLEBLOWING (Studi Empiris pada Mahasiswa Tingkat Akhir Universitas Gadjah Mada)

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh locus of control, penalaran moral, dan materiality terhadap niat mahasiswa dalam melakukan whistleblowing. Penelitian menggunakan sampel yang diambil berdasarkan survei online yang disebarkan melalui media sosial pada mahasiswa tingkat akhir Universitas Gadjah Mada. Sampel terdiri dari 83 mahasiswa tingkat akhir yang terdiri dari 43 mahsasiswa akuntansi dan 40 mahasiswa nonakuntansi. Penelitian menguji sebanyak lima hipotesis dengan menggunakan metode analisis regresi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa locus of control dan penalaran moral tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap whistleblowing intention, sedangkan materiality dari keseriusan pelanggaran berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap whistleblowing. Hasil lain dapat disimpulkan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan tingkat penalaran moral dan whistleblowing intention antara mahasiswa akuntansi dan nonakuntansi.

The purpose of this research is to examine the influence of locus of control, moral reasoning and materiality towards the problem on students’ whistleblowing intention. The research sample is obtained from online survey that shares on social media by the final year students of University of Gadjah Mada. The samples of this research are 83 final year students taken from various faculties which consist of 43 accounting students and 40 non-accounting students. Five hypothesis tested use multiple regression analysis method. The research shows that locus of control and moral reasoning do not provide significant influence on whistleblowing intention, while materiality of the problem gives significant influence on whistleblowing intention. In addition, the research also indicates that there is no significant differences of moral reasoning level and whistleblowing intention between accounting and non-accounting students.
