Institut Prancis Indonesia (IFI) merupakan penggabungan dari bagian kerjasama kebudayaan (SCAC) kedutaan besar Prancis dan pusat-pusat kebudayaan Prancis di Indonesia (CCF). Lembaga-lembaga tersebut bertugas untuk mendukung seluruh aksi kerja sama budaya antara Indonesia-Prancis. segala hal yang berkaitan dengan kebudayaan, pendidikan, dan politik kedua Negara tersebut akan ditangani langsung oleh lembaga-lembaga tersebut. Institut Prancis Indonesia yang pada khususnya, sering mempererat hubungan kebudayaan maupun persaudaraan melalui acara-acara kesenian, social, kelingkungan. Dalam hal ini, dibidang kesenian contohnya, IFI-Lip menggelar Festival Sinema Prancis yang sudah memasuki edisi ke-20 pada penghujung tahun 2015 kemarin. Selama perjalanan panjang 20 tahun tersebut, festival film asing tertua di Indonesia ini secara konsisten mempertemukan para pecinta dan pelaku film melalui pemutaran film-film berkualitas seperti antara lain Quest ce quon fait au bon dieu? (Serial Bad Weddings) karya Phillippe de Chauveron yang masuk dalam daftar Box Office Prancis 2014 dengan 12 juta penonton dan Clouds of Sils Maria karya Olivier Assayas yang masuk dalam seleksi resmi Festival Cannes 2014. Bekerja sama dengan XXI/21 Festival Sinema Prancis juga hadir dalam rangka memajukan film pendek di Indonesia yang melibatkan sineas-sineas muda berbakat dan sebagai kantung kebudayaan yang melibatkan komunitas film lokal.
