Anihilasi Simbolis terhadap Perempuan dalam Proses Produksi Berita di Lembaga Penyiaran Publik TVRI D.I Yogyakarta

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis anihilasi simbolis terhadap perempuan yang terjadi dalam proses produksi berita. Selain itu memahami faktor yang berkontribusi terjadinya anihilasi simbolis terhadap perempuan dalam proses produksi berita. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang difokuskan pada proses rapat redaksi, peliputan, penulisan naskah berita serta editing visual berita. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi dan wawancara, kemudian dikaji dengan konsep anihilasi simbolis Gaye Tuchman. Konsep ini mencakup 3 poin yaitu penghilangan atau tidak dihadirkannya perempuan dalam berita (omission), pengabaian media terhadap perempuan sehingga tidak ditayangkan dalam berita (trivialization), dan penyalahan media terhadap perempuan (condemnation). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa anihilasi simbolis terhadap perempuan terjadi dalam proses produksi berita yaitu dalam pemilihan topik berita, pemilihan nara sumber berita, perekaman gambar, dan editing visual berita. Topik perempuan tidak mendapat porsi yang signifikan dalam tayangan berita karena topik perempuan jarang dipilih dalam proses produksi berita. Ketika perempuan dihadirkan seringkali ditampilkan sebagai perempuan yang terlibat kasus, sebagai pendamping laki-laki, objek bagi laki-laki seperti objek nikah siri online. Anihilasi simbolis terjadi yaitu terhadap perempuan yang berprestasi karena tidak dihadirkan dalam berita. Perempuan yang dihadirkan cenderung dari pemangku kekuasaan, terutama pemerintah, sedangkan kategori perempuan berprestasi lainnya tidak diberi ruang untuk berbicara. Selain itu Anihilasi simbolis juga terjadi pada perempuan yang menjadi korban namun tidak disuarakan oleh media, seperti buruh gendong, pelaku pernikahan dini, korban kemiskinan Marry Jane. Anihilasi simbolis terhadap perempuan dalam proses produksi berita terjadi karena kontribusi beberapa faktor diantaranya persepsi tim produksi tentang publik adalah mencakup semua lapisan masyarakat, terbatasnya jaringan yang dimiliki pimpinan dan tim produksi berita, kebijakan manajemen yang kurang memberikan perhatian terhadap pengangkatan topik perempuan, sistem dan struktur organisasi bidang berita, serta budaya kerja tim produksi dan pola pikir personal tim produksi yang kurang memberikan perhatian terhadap topik perempuan.

This research's aim is to analyse the symbolic annihilation of women in the news production process. In addition, it's also to understand factors that contributed to the occurrence of symbolic annihilation of women in the news production process. This research used a qualitative approach which focuses on the process of editorial meetings, news reporting, news script writing, and news visual editing. Data collection methods used were observation and interviews which analized with the concept of symbolic annihilation written by Gaye Tuchman. This concept consisted of three points: the omission, the trivialization and the condemnation. The results showed that the symbolic annihilation of women is occured in the process of news production, that is the election of news topics, the selection of news sources, the image recording, and the editing of news visual. The topic of women don't get a significant portion in the news, because it is rarely chosen in the news production process. When women are presented in the news, often presented as women who was involved in a case, as a male companion, as objects for men such as unofficial marriage on line. Symbolic annihilation occurs to women achievers, because it is not presented in the news. Women who were presented tend to come from the power holder whereas from other women's categories were not given space to speak. In addition, Symbolic annihilation occurs to women who are victims but not spoken by media such as laborers carrying, early marriage perpetrators, victims of poverty Marry Jane. Symbolic annihilation of women in the news production process occurs because of the contribution of several factors including the perception of the production team about the meaning of public must be covering and important for all society, limited network is owned by leader and news production team, the management policies that are less concerned with the removal of the topic of women in the news, the systems and organizational structure of the news company and the culture of work of production team and the personal mindset of production team that paid little attention to the topic of women.
