The results of this study showed skin scrape sample from 9 of 13 (69 %) pedigree dogs and 3 of 11 (27 %) non-pedigree dogs were cultured as Microsporum canis and diagnosed as dermathophytosis. All dermatophytosis-positive dogs showed signs of alopecia, but only 66.7% of samples showed fluorescense in UV examination. Pedigree dogs showed a complete exhibition of dermatophytosis clinical signs such as alopecia, erythema, pruritus and crust as compared to non-pedigree dogs.
