The issue of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) becomes more and more crusial as the phenomena of the modern economy and their consequences for individuals, societies, and organizations. As moral decision making in financial markets incorporates moral considerations into investment decision, some rational decision theorist argue that moral conciderations would introduce inefficiency to investment decisions. However, market demand for socially responsible investment is increasing, suggesting the investment decisions are influenced by both financial and moral considerations. Two models can be applied to explain moral behavior. This research describes why socially responsible investment has become a considerable factor in finance by using (a) multiple attribute utility theory and (b) issue-contingent model of ethical decision making by investors. Using an experimental setting with strictly controlled profits, this study investigates how corporate social responsibility, in term of environments problem, affect the investment decision process. Results indicate that moral considerations influence investment decisions, controlling profit.
