Creative Industry has growing rapidly in Indonesia. Indonesia Creative Industries gives a major contribution in states revenue. In the creative economy, there are three sub-sector that have the largest income and the development is culinary, fashion, and craft sub-sector. The development of creative industries especially fashion was still not supported by the existence of educational facilities that are able to produce professional worker in the fashion field. Yogyakarta was one of the candidate for Creative City in the UNESCO Creative Cities. This is also supported by the growth of the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) of the creative economy in the Special Region of Yogyakarta with number of percentage around 5.83%. Jogja is the right location for developing creative economy, especially the fashion sub-sector. In this city, there have been several educational facilities, but not all of these institutions provide appropriate education due the various problems. Inadequate facilities and curriculum that does not fulfill the development of the fashion industry in Indonesia, making a Fashion Design School needed to overcome these problems. The planning and designing of the Fashion Design School as a city public space is the answer to the problem of the lack of open space, as well as the problem of the lack of professional fashion worker in Yogyakarta. The Cross-programming approach was chosen for this type of building because of this approach allows activities to overlap one to the another and also flexible over space and time. In the end, we hope that this Fashion Design School will create a creative city climate that triggers the creativity of the citizens to take a part in this creative economy activities.
