Calcium is one of the macro minerals that is needed by the body. Lack of calcium intake in the body can cause interference, especially related to bone health. One source of abundant calcium is tilapia bone waste. Calcium absorption will be maximal if it has a small size or in other words nanocalcium. In this study nanocalcium was obtained with variations in extraction time of 60.90,120 minutes with a ratio of samples: NaOH in variations 1: 2, 1: 3, and 1: 4. Then the best nanocalcium with the smallest particle size will be tested for bioavailability which will be compared with fish bone flour. . The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of variations in base solvent concentration and extraction time on particle size, yield, water content, yielded nanocalcium, and to determine nanocalcium efficiency and characterization of use of base solvent concentrations and selected extraction time variations based on particle size in this bioavailability process. situ. Treating nanocalcium with 60 minutes extraction temperature and sample: NaOH ratio of 1: 3 is the best nanocalcium with a moisture content of 3.66%; yield 5.78%; particle size of 554.3 nm; total calcium absorption of 51.22% and biovailability of 1.17%

Kata Kunci : fish bones, calcium, nanocalcium, bioavailability , in situ
