Pengujian beban konstan dan pengujian pulsa menghasilkan rerata error sekitar 5% sedangkan pengujian beban bervariasi menghasilkan rerata error sekitar 9,5% untuk daerah kerja state of charge (SOC) 20% hingga 80%.

Global warming becomes an issue in the field of energy. The usage of fossil energy in transportation system as the main energy source is one of many contributing factors in Indonesia and United States. Electrical vehicles are then considered to overcome this issue. A battery in an electrical vehicle becomes the main monitored object as its performance gradually degrades. A system called Battery Management System (BMS) is then used to monitor the battery to keep it operating optimally. In BMS, the value of current has an important role. The value is usually determined by using a current sensor. However, the usage of the current sensor is expensive thus increases the cost in maintaining BMS and totally decreases the efficiency of the system. This research aims to determine the value of current without using a current sensor. The value is determined by implementing an estimation using an algorithm derived from a simple battery model. The model is formed into Laplace equations. The equations are then formed into continuous forms and finally changed to discrete forms by using the Euler approximation. The focus of this research is to get datas of current value and information of the performance of the algorithm for various tests including constant-load test, pulse test, and variant-load test. The performance of the current estimation algorithm are determined by calculating error in term of root mean square error (RMSE) and mean absolute error (MAE). Discharge test and pulse test result in about 5% of average error while variant-load test results in about 9,5% of average error in the region of 20% to 80% of state of charge (SOC). It is noted that the more variant the load, the larger the error. Finally, it is concluded that the algorithm works well even though the error in variant-load test is still considered large, but the current estimation manages to successfully follow the change of current value's curve of the current sensor.
