Background: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is the most common mosquito borne viral disease, mainly by female Aedes aegypti. The frangipani flower known scientifically as Plumeria rubra L of Apocynaceae family was proven as mosquito repellent. Objective: The aim of this research is to experiment if an incense combustible made purely of Plumeria rubra plant alone without any mixture of other active compounds, would it be able to repel mosquitoes preferably Ae. Aegypti and to see the concentration of frangipani flower needed to repel the mosquitoes. Method: Varying concentration of frangipani flower Plumeria rubra powder was made into combustible incense and was introduced to Aedes aegypti female adult mosquitoes in a box containing a sample size of 25. Result: The cumulative percentage of repellence of Aedes aegypti towards combustible incense of Plumeria rubra of concentration 0%,10%,20%,40%,80% and positive control at 60 minute of exposure is 29,33%, 36%, 52%, 52%, 60% and 66,67% respectively. Conclusion: The combustible incense of (Plumeria rubra ) of different concentration; 0%, 10%, 20%, 40%, 80% have unequal repellence activity against Ae.aegypti adult female mosquito in the laboratory described by cumulative percentage of repellence for 60 minute exposure with 29,33%, 36%, 52%, 52%, 60% and 66,67% respectively. Mosquito repellence does not increases proportional to increasing concentration of frangipani flower concentration.
