50 years where its principal vector is Aedes aegypti. One of the ways to prevent this disease is by using mosquito repellents. Instead of the synthetic chemical repellents, a safer alternative should be use. Cananga odorata is used as a mosquito repellent in different concentrations against the mosquito in the form of incense combustible. Objective: To know the repellent activity of 0%, 10%, 20%, 40%, and 80% Cananga odorata compare to d-allethrin 0.3% group. Methods: A simple post-test only experimental group design was used. Twenty-five adult female Ae. aegypti aged 2-5 days is tested with 5 different concentrations of Cananga odorata; 0%, 10%, 20%, 40%, 80%, and d-aletrin 0.3% group. There are two box connected with a glass pipe in between, box A contains the burning incense of Cananga Odorata, another box B is empty. The number of mosquito in B is counted every 5 minutes, until 60 minutes, with 3 replications each. Results: Using Anova analysis, in 20, 40, and 60 minutes of exposure, shows significant difference with (F(5,12) = 3,203, p = 0,046; F(5,12) = 18,900, p = 0,0001; F(5,12) = 30,418, p = 0,0001, respectively. The mean percentage shows 80% C. odorata (41.32%± 6,12) has almost the same repellence as d-allethrin 0.3% (42,68%± 6,12) but higher than other groups. Tukey pos hoc analysis revealed significant differences in 10%, 20%, 40%, 80% C. odorata and d-allethrin 0.3% compared to negative group, 0% C. odorata. Conclusion: 10%, 20%, 40%, and 80%-C. odorata have ability as mosquito repellent. However, the 80%- C. odorata repellence ability is similar to the d-allethrin 0.3% group.
