RANCANG BANGUN FASILITAS PENCARIAN PADA ELECTRONIC THESES AND DISSERTATIONS MENGGUNAKAN ONTOLOGI DAN ATURAN BERBASIS SEMANTIC WEB

Fasilitas pencarian pada sistem digital library menjadi kebutuhan dasar bagi setiap user yang mengaksesnya yang memiliki peran yang sangat vital. Hasil pengamatan pada perilaku user ketika menggunakan Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD) sebagai digital library yang dikelola oleh Universitas Gadjah Mada diperoleh suatu fakta bahwa terdapat kelemahan pada sistem, yaitu hasil pencarian yang terlalu meluas sehingga kurang relevan dengan keinginan user. Kemudian sistem sering menginterpretasikan makna keywords yang diinputkan berbeda dengan yang dimaksudkan oleh user. Untuk itu, fasilitas pencarian dengan menggunakan ontologi dan aturan berbasis semantic web diterapkan untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan relevansi hasil pencarian dan pemaknaan kata antara sistem dan user. Model ontologi yang dibangun, diekspresikan dengan menggunakan bahasa OWL yang berisikan entitas semantic web berupa tiga class utama, yaitu kelas Student, kelas Lecturer dan kelas Publication dan tiga class pembantu, yaitu kelas Kalimat, kelas Stopword dan kelas Keyword. Sedangkan aturan yang dibangun adalah aturan pengolahan bahasa dengan Natural Language Processing agar sistem mampu memahami makna dari keyword ataupun kalimat pencarian yang diinputkan user dan aturan query SWRL untuk proses pencarian informasi yang tersimpan pada basis pengetahuan. Hasil pengujian terhadap sejumlah kalimat perintah pencarian yang diinputkan, mampu memberikan rasio precision dan rasio recall pada setiap kata kunci yang sama besar yaitu 100% atau 1 : 1. Dengan demikian fasilitas pencarian yang dikembangkan pada Electronic Theses And Dissertations (ETD) dapat dikatakan efektif.

Searching facility on the digital library system is a basic requirement for each user accessesing it; therefore it plays an important role. The observations on behaviour of the users of the Electronic Theses and Dissertations (ETD) as the digital library managed by the Gadjah Mada University show a weakness in that system which was the search results was too widespread and irrelevant to the user needs. The systems often interpret the meaning of keywords entered different to what the user intended. The semantic search technology is applied in order to solve problems of relevance of search results and the words meaning between system and users. The ontology model formed is expressed by using OWL language which contains semantic entities such as three main class i.e: Student class, Lecturer class and Publication class and three helper class i.e: Kalimat class, Stopword class and Keyword class. The rules builts are Language processing rules using Natural Language Processing so that the system is able to understand the meaning of keyword or search sentence which are input by the users and the query SWRL rule to search the information stored in the knowledge base. The results of testing on a number of searching phrase, show providing both the precision ratio and recall ratio of 100% for every each keyword or 1: 1. Thus the semantic search system developed is considered to be effective.
