PT Triputra Agro Persada is a company incorporated in the group companies of Triputra Group, engaged in the field of agribusiness. PT Brahma Binabakti is one of the subsidiaries owned by PT Triputra Agro Persada, engaged in plantation and palm oil processing business which produces semi-finished products in the form of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) and Palm Kernel (PK). The raw water treatment process of the palm oil mill is an important stage to remove impurities from the water. Coagulants need to be added to help the process of purification and the commonly used coagulant is aluminium sulfate. The measurement and the use of the right dose of aluminium sulfate will determine the quality of raw water based on the parameters of turbidity, pH and Total Dissolved Solid (TDS). This research aims to measure the influence of the dose of the aluminium sulfate variations on turbidity, pH, and TDS of raw water as well as comparing the results of the research with raw water quality standards based on Kepmenkes RI No. 907 year 2002. The measurement of the dose of the aluminium sulfate is done using the Jartest method with a variation of the administered dose of 1-4 ml. The measurement of the optimum dose of aluminium sulfate is analyzed using Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with the method of ANOVA and Tukey test. The results of this study show that there is no significant difference between the use of a variation of aluminum sulfate dose with turbidity water and the optimum dose obtained is 2 ml. There are significant differences between the use of dosage variations of aluminium sulfate with pH and TDS water, the optimum dose obtained is 3 ml for pH parameters and 1 ml for the TDS parameter. The use of optimum doses can produce good quality of raw water as all parameters are entered within the allowable limit.
