Gambaran Keberdayaan Perempuan di Desa Wisata Pentingsari Berdasarkan Penghitungan Resident Empowerment through Tourism Scale (RETS)

Walaupun telah banyak penelitian terkait dengan pemberdayaan perempuan dalam pariwisata, namun penelitian secara kuantitatif mengenai hal tersebut belum banyak dibahas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur sejauh mana perempuan di suatu destinasi wisata merasa berdaya akibat adanya pariwisata. Pengukuran dilakukan dengan menggunakan konsep Resident Empowerment through Tourism Scale (RETS) yang dirumuskan oleh Boley dan McGehee (2014). Penelitian ini akan mencari nilai rata-rata pada dimensi pemberdayaan psikologis, pemberdayaan sosial, dan pemberdayaan politis. Selanjutnya, nilai rata-rata akan diinterpretasikan dengan skala penilaian oleh Umar (1998). Penelitian dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner kepada 100 penduduk perempuan di Desa Wisata Pentingsari yang berusia produktif, yaitu 15 - 64 tahun. Hasil penelian menunjukkan bahwa perempuan di Desa Wisata Pentingsari merasa lebih berdaya secara psikologis dibandingkan secara sosial dan politis. Nilai rata-rata pada dimensi pemberdayaan psikologis menunjukkan angka sebesar 4,26 dengan kategori sangat tinggi. Pada dimensi pemberdayaan sosial, nilai rata-rata menunjukkan angka 4,19 dengan kategori tinggi. Sedangkan pada dimensi pemberdayaan politis, nilai rata-rata menunjukkan angka 3,59 dengan kategori tinggi.

Despite there have been many studies linked to women�¢ï¿½ï¿½s empowerment in tourism, there has yet a quantitative research to be discussed. The main focus of this research is to measure whether the women�¢ï¿½ï¿½s residents perceive themselves as being empowered from tourism. The measurement is carried out using the concept of Resident Empowerment through Tourism Scale (RETS), formulated by Boley and McGehee (2014). This study will look for the value of the mean score on the dimension of psychological empowerment, social empowerment, and political empowerment. Furthermore, the value of the mean score will be interpreted with a scale of assessment by Umar (1998). Data collection methods implemented in this research is questionnaires. A questionnaire was given to 100 women in Pentingsari Tourism Village who are productive (15 - 64 years old). The result shows that the women in Pentingsari Tourism Village perceived themselves to be more psychologically empowered than socially empowered or politically empowered. On the psychological empowerment, the mean score is 4.26 with the very high category. On the dimension of social empowerment, the mean score shows 4.19 with a high category. Whereas, in the dimension of political empowerment, the mean score is 3.69 that indicates the high category.
