Remote sensing data is now increasingly used for various studies. DMSP-OLS satellite images product can be used to assess pixel-based electricity consumption. This study aims to (1) extract electricity consumption information from the DMSP-OLS images in Indonesia, (2) analyze the information of electricity consumption in Indonesia from 1992 to 2012 spatiotemporally, and (3) visualize the dynamics of spasiotemporal of electricity consumption in Indonesia from 1992 to 2012. This research uses DMSP-OLS stable lights from 1992 to 2012 located in Indonesia. This research stages consist of preparation, intercalibration inter-year images, modeling of electricity consumption, spatiotemporal modeling of electricity consumption, and spatiotemporal visualization of electricity consumption phase. Intercalibration on this research uses Elvidge (2009) method and modeling the pixel-based electricity consumption with linear regression. The results of this study found that Banten F152002 can be used as reference image but did not form a good cumulative pixel trend, so Elvidge's (2014) calibration coefficients have been used to calibrate the DMSP-OLS images before it is mapped. This result of Indonesian electricity consumption modelling resulted in an average accuracy of 54.4% to 61.9%. Spatiotemporal phenomena of electricity consumption in Indonesia is very varied and generally controlled by the main road and the dynamics of the main roads and large scale mining and industries development.
