A research on the identification of the distribution of iron sands on the coast of South Yogyakarta, Dusun village Ngepet Srigading Sanden Bantul districts using the Very Low Frequency. This study aims to: (1) Identify the conductivity anomaly using electromagnetic method VLF (Very Low Frequency). (2) Determine the distribution and depth of iron sand in the Region hamlet village Ngepet Srigading Sanden Bantul district of Yogyakarta. Tracks measurement as many as 10 tracks with a length of 1000 m and the distance between the point of 10 m and the distance between track as far as 200 m. While the number of Test Pit by 3 points as supporting data. VLF data interpretation results showed the presence of anomalous high current density equivalent to each track range from 20 percent to 50 percent which is interpreted as the conductive mineral content of iron sand to a depth of 40 meters. Pit tests showed a good correlation with the results which showed the spread VLF iron sand heading east.

Kata Kunci : pasir besi, Very Low Frequency (VLF)
