Studi ini bertujuan untuk memahami secara komprehensif media cetak lokal Solopos dalam meliput dan mengkonstruksi reputasi kepemimpinan politik Presiden Joko Widodo pada periode Juli 2015 - Desember 2015. Reputasi kepemimpinan politik merupakan bagian penting untuk mendapatkan kepercayaan rakyat terhadap Presiden Joko Widodo. Berita media cetak lokal Solopos adalah salah satu sumber informasi yang dapat menaikan atau menurunkan reputasi kepemimpinan politik Presiden Joko Widodo. Liputan berita tidaklah netral, melainkan hasil konstruksi yang dipengaruhi oleh aspek-aspek substansial dan nonsubstasial. Hasilnya adalah Solopos mengkonstruksi kepemimpinan Presiden Joko Widodo sebagai seorang pemimpin yang tegas, kharismatik, berkuasa terhadap kebijakan politik. Konstruksi berita mengarah kepada upaya meningkatkan kepercayaan rakyat terhadap presiden ditengah bermunculannya isu-isu negatif di banyak media lainnya.

This study aims to comprehensively understands Solopos local printed news media in covering and constructing the reputation of the political leadership of President Joko Widodo in the period from July to December 2015. Solopos local printed news media is one of the sources of information which could raise or lower President Joko Widodo political leadership. The reputation of political leadership is an important component of getting people's confidence in President Joko Widodo. News coverage are not neutral, rather it is the result of construction which influenced by substantial and nonsubstasial aspects. The result is Solopos establishes the leadership of President Joko Widodo as a decisive leader, charismatic, ruking against public policy. News construction is directed to increase people's confidence in the president amidst the emergence of negative issues in several other media.
