INTERPRETASI TINGGALAN ARKEOLOGIS DI KAMPUNG LERABAING, ALOR : KAJIAN TRADISI LISAN

Topik dari penelitian ini merupakan kajian tradisi lisan yang menghasilkan interpretasi dari tinggalan arkeologis di Kampung Lerabaing, Alor. Permasalahan dalam penelitian adalah bagaimana kronologi dapat mengungkap tinggalan arkeologi berdasarkan tradisi lisan dan analisis ragam hias. Penelitian ini menggunakan interpretasi tradisi lisan yang diperoleh dari hasil wawancara dan observasi lapangan dengan tambahan analisis ragam hias untuk melengkapi data. Hasil penelitian ini menghasilkan tahapan kronologi dari budaya materi yang tertua hingga lebih muda. Tema utama dari tradisi lisan adalah datangnya Islam ke Lerabaing. Sebelum kedatangan Islam, setidaknya ada dua tahap perkembangan budaya, masing-masing diwakili oleh batu misbah, talud, dan makam Raja Tarsano Kinanggi. Setelah Islam, muncul beberapa hasil budaya berupa Masjid At-Taqwa, keramik Eropa, dan hasil kerajinan yang baru.

The topic of this research is an oral tradition study to produce an interpretation of remains in Lerabaing village, Alor. The issue is how the relative chronology can reveal the archaeological remains in Lerabaing based on oral interpretation and style analysis. This research applies oral tradition interpretation that is collected from depth interviews method and observation in field with an additional style analysis to result in the chronology of material culture in Lerabaing. The result finds that there are stages of chronology from the oldest to the recent material culture in Lerabaing. The main theme of oral tradition is the early coming of Islam to Lerabaing. Before the coming of Islam, there is at least two stages of cultural development, each is represented by misbah, stone embarkment and King Tarsano Kinanggi’s tomb. After Islam, the period is represented by main material cultures, such as At-Taqwa mosque, and develops a more recent European ceramics and recent craft.
