Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sektor perekonomian unggulan daerah Kabupaten Purworejo Tahun 2009-2013 analisis yang digunakan adalah: 1) Analisis Tipologi Klassen; 2) Analisis Location Quotient (LQ); 3) Analisis Shift Share dan 4) Analisis deskriptif untuk mengetahui sektor perekonomian unggulan Kabupaten Purworejo. Hasil analisis menurut Tipologi Klassen menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 2 (dua) sektor yang maju dan tumbuh dengan pesat, yaitu sektor pertanian dan sektor jasa-jasa. sementara itu terdapat 3 (tiga) sektor yang maju tapi tertekan yaitu sektor pertambangan dan penggalian, sektor pengangkutan dan komunikasi serta sektor keuangan, persewaan dan jasa perusahaan. Hasil perhitungan indeks Location Quotient terdapat 5 (lima) sektor yang merupakan sektor basis, yaitu sektor pertanian, sektor pertambangan dan penggalian, sektor pengangkutan dan komunikasi, sektor keuangan, persewaan & jasa perusaan, dan sektor jasa-jasa. Hasil analisis shift share menunjukkan bahwa sektor yang memiliki potensi lokal besar di Kabupaten Purworejo, yaitu sektor pertanian. Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan dari analisis Tipologi Klassen, Location Quotient (LQ), dan Shift Share menunjukkan bahwa terdapat dua sektor yang merupakan sektor perekonomian unggulan dengan kriteria tergolong ke dalam sektor yang maju dan tumbuh dengan pesat, merupakan sektor basis, dan potensi lokal lebih besar yaitu sektor pertanian. Sedangkan sektor jasa-jasa tergolong ke dalam sektor yang maju dan tumbuh pesat, merupakan sektor basis dan tumbuh cepat di Kabupaten Purworejo walaupun potensi lokal lebih kecil akan tetapi memilki kecenderungan tren yang terus meningkat.

The research objective is to analyze the leading of economic sector Purworejo in 2009-2013. The analysis used is : 1) Klassen Tipology; 2) Location Quotient (LQ; 3) Shift Share, 4) Descriptive Analysis to know the leading economic sector Purworejo. Based on analysis of klassen typology,the result shows that there are 2 (two) sector are growing rapidly, the agriculture sector and services sector, in the meantime there are 3 (three) sector are advance but depressed, minning and quarring sector, transportation and communication sector as well as financial, ownership and business services sector. The result of calculation of index Location Quotient (LQ) there are 5 (five) basis sector, whichis agriculture sector, minning and quarring sector , transportion and communication sector , financial , ownership and business services sector, and services sector. The result based on shift share analysis indicate that the sector is having a large local potential in district Purworejo, the agriculture sector. Based on calculations of the Klassen typology analysis, Location Quotient (LQ), and Shift Share indicate that there is 2 (two) sector which is the leading economic sectors classified by the criteria in the advanced sector and rapid growth, a sector basis, and the potential for greater local agriculture sector. whlie the services sector belongs to in sector are growing rapidply, basis sector, growing faster althoug smaller local potentialbut has the tendency the trend is on the rise.
