Penggunaan Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) pada saat sekarang ini semakin banyak dipakai. Teknologi ini semakin banyak dikembangkan tidak hanya di lokasi perkantoran akan tetapi juga pada lokasi perumahan. Untuk memberikan pemahaman yang baik tentang kinerja dari WLAN, maka penelitian tentang pengaruh Quality of Service sangat diperlukan. Pada penelitian ini akan menjelaskan tentang penggunaan standar IEEE 802.11g didalam gedung. Parameter wireless link seperti bandwidth, delay, packet loss, throughput, jumlah user aktif, mekanisme RTS/CTS dan pengaruh dari lintasan propagasi diperkirakan dapat mempengaruhi kinerja dari WLAN. Dari hasil penelitian didapat bahwa terdapat pengaruh Jenis lintasan propogasi, pengaruh jumlah user aktif, pengaruh jenis paket protokol dan pengaruh mekanisme RTS/CTS terhadap Quality of Service pada WLAN.

Adoption of Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) is growing rapidly. This technology has been widely deployed not only in offices, but also at homes. To give better understanding of WLAN performance in various condition, a study of parameters that affect Quality of Service (QoS) is needed. This paper examines the QoS of IEEE 802.11 standard in the building. The parameters of wireless link such as bandwidth, delay, packet loss, throughput, the number of active users, mechanism of RTS/CTS and influence of the propagation are considered. From this research has solved that the Quality of service affected by type of propagation signal, amount of user, type of packet protocol and RTS/CTS mechanism.
