Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendapatkan bukti empiris bahwa terdapat (1) pengaruh pertumbuhan aset terhadap return saham (2) pengaruh size terhadap return (3) pengaruh book to market terhadap return (4) pendekomposisian aktiva dan pasiva pertumbuhan aset. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah perusahaan manufaktur nonkeuangan yang terdaftar di Bursa Efek Indonesia (BEI) pada tahun 2001-2008 dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan melakukan analisis regresi. Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan aset berpengaruh terhadap return saham, book-to-market berpengaruh negatif terhadap return saham, size berpengaruh positif terhadap return saham, selain itu dari pendekomposisian aktiva dan pasiva diketahui bahwa pertumbuhan aktiva tetap dan laba ditahan memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap return perusahaan. Hal tersebut memberikan informasi bahwa pertumbuhan aset perusahaan dapat menjadi hal yang bernilai khusus bagi investor.

This research was conducted to obtain empirical evidence that there are (1) the effect of asset growth for stock returns (2) the influence of size on the return (3) the effect of the book to market return (4) asset growth decomposition of assets and liabilities. The sample used in this research is non-financial manufacturing companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) in the year 2001-2008 by using purposive sampling technique. Hypothesis testing was done by regression analysis. Hypothesis testing results indicate that the asset growth effect on stock returns, book-to-market negative effect on stock return, firm size positive influence on stock return, in addition to it of assets and liabilities decomposition known that the growth of fixed assets and retained earnings have a positive influence on return company. It provides information that growth of corporate assets can be a special value for investors.
