Teks Hikayat Syekh ‘Abd l-Qâdir al-Jaylâny (HSAJ) ditulis dalam aksara Jawi (Arab-Melayu) yang mungkin tidak dikenal oleh masyarakat sekarang. Di samping itu, HSAJ adalah karya sastra Melayu dalam genre "hikayat hagiografis". Hikayat ini menanamkan ajaran tasawuf tertentu. Akan tetapi, ajaran tasawuf tersebut disajikan secara tidak langsung. Oleh karena itu, studi ini bertujuan untuk (1) menyajikan suntingan teks HSAJ dan (2) mengungkap ajaran tasawuf yang terkandung dalam HSAJ. Studi ini menggunakan penelitian filologi dan fungsi. Penelitian filologi akan menggunakan metode penentuan naskah dasar suntingan. Penelitian fungsi akan menggunakan metode penelitian fungsi. Pengertian fungsi yang dimaksud di sini adalah pengertian fungsi dalam arti apa yang dituju oleh pengarang di dalam karangannya dan fungsi bagian-bagian teks tersebut di dalam keseluruhannya. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan empat naskah HSAJ diketahui dan tersimpan di Jakarta. Naskah dasar suntingan ditentukan dengan kriteria luas materi. Naskah Ml. 392 ditetapkan sebagai naskah dasar suntingan dan digunakan sebagai naskah dasar kajian dalam penelitian fungsi untuk mengungkap ajaran tasawuf yang terkandung dalam teks HSAJ. Ajaran tasawuf yang dapat diungkap dalam teks HSAJ adalah aspek keimanan, aspek ibadah, aspek achwâl dan maqâmât, aspek adab, dan aspek keutamaan ilmu. Kajian ini diharapkan untuk memberi suatu kontribusi yang bermanfaat bagi pondasi spiritual.
The Teaching of Mysticism in "The Hikayat of Syekh 'Abd l- Qâdir al-Jaylâny": Text Editing and Function. Thesis, Yogyakarta: Graduate School, Gadjah Mada University, 2009. The text of the Hikayat of Syekh ‘Abd l-Qâdir al-Jaylâny (HSAJ) was written in Jawi script (Arabic-Malay) which might not be recognized by society right now. Besides, the HSAJ is Malay belles-lettres' in genre of "hagiographical hikayat". This hikayat implant the certain mysticisms. However, the teaching of mysticism is presented indirectly. Therefore, this study aims to (1) present the editing of the text of the HSAJ and (2) express the teaching of mysticism implied in the text of the HSAJ. This study used the research of philology and research of function. The research of philology will use the method of base manuscript of editing. The function research will use the method of function research. The meaning of function in this discussion is as what the writer meant in his work: What the writer's purpose in making such work and what the function of sections in the whole texts. The result of study showed that the existence of the four manuscripts of the HSAJ have been known and preserved in Jakarta. The base manuscript of editing is determined with the criteria of its extent of content. The manuscript Ml. 392 is determined as the base manuscript of editing and used as the base manuscript of the study in the function research whose purpose is to express the teaching of mysticism implied in the text of the HSAJ. The teaching of mysticism which can be expressed in the text of HSAJ are the aspects of faith, worship, achwâl and maqâmât, adab, and virtue of knowledge. This study is expected to give a useful contribution for spiritual foundation.
