Dieng is a region of active and inactive volcanoes which has many emergences of geothermal object. The emergence of geothermal can be expressed by the value of land surface temperature. Remote sensing has amount of thermal bands with various spatial resolutions with different accuracies, i.e. Landsat 5, 7, and 8 imagery. Objective of this research is to learn which thermal band is more capable in predicting the temperature value around the object of geothermal and to review the accuracy of thermal image, both based on the pixel value of surface degree and the model of regression result, which is used in initial identification of geothermal location. The value of land surface temperature is obtained by extracting the land surface temperature from thermal band of Landsat 5, 7, and each thermal bands of Landsat 8, and Split Window Algorithm (SWA) is used to merge thermal bands of Landsat 8 imagery. Accuracy test is processed by using Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) method to predict object temperature value and confusion matrix is used to discover the level of thermal bands imagery. The result of accuracy test conducted in prediction to temperature value around the geothermal stated that band 11 of Landsat 8 has a better accuracy compared to other bands, namely the movement of pixel degree value of field degree value was 3.9oC higher or lower. The level of accuracy of the thermal image used in this research is generated based on the value of real pixel of surface temperature that the accuracy of thermal band of Landsat 5 is 42%, Landsat7 is 50%, Split Window Algorithm (SWA) method of Landsat 8 is 62%, band 10 of Landsat 8 is 65%, band 11 of Landsat 8 is 58%. Meanwhile, based on regression model, accuracy of Landsat 5 is 54%, Landsat 7 is 50%, and SWA method, band 10, and band 11 of Landsat 8 are 54% respectively.
